Comprises two brief sections of scene for tenor and orchestra from second act of opera in three acts designated for insertion into full score as revision for French language production in Paris in 1861. Translation by composer from original German. Includes autograph corrections, deletions and annotations in French, some directed at copyist, in pencil and red crayon; words of vocal line apparently entered in black ink by another hand. Corresponds to bars 498-520 (pages 273-275) and 543-549 beg. (pages 278-279) in the Paris version as printed in Band 6, III of Wagner, R. Sämtliche Werke published: Mainz : B. Schott’s Söhne, c2003.
